About Us
Swanland House is a care home in North Ferriby, providing residential care for older people from across the East Riding, including residents living with dementia. We support younger adults as well, and we offer respite stays.
It is only fair to start with our regulator. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We have worked through the report rather than around it. Care planning and record keeping have been reworked, supervision of the staff team has been strengthened, and we have made it easier for residents and relatives to raise something with us directly and get an answer. That work continues. Ask us and we will be specific about what has changed and what has not yet.
What we are trying to build has not changed. A household where people are helped at their own pace, where the food is worth sitting down to, and where the staff stay long enough to know that one resident likes a lie in and another is anxious if the routine shifts. For residents living with dementia, that steadiness matters more than anything else we could offer.
Families are welcome without appointments and we would rather hear from relatives too often than too little.
Respite stays are available for carers who need a rest and people who need support for a short period. Please visit and judge us for yourself.
