About Us
We at Stride East warmly welcome you to our residential care home in Hull, a place where compassionate support meets everyday comfort for adults who need a helping hand. Nestled within the wider East Riding of Yorkshire community, our home offers a calm and homely environment where residents can feel truly settled and cared for.
Our setting has been thoughtfully arranged to feel welcoming from the moment you step through the door. With the familiar rhythms of Hull life just beyond our walls, residents benefit from being close to local amenities, community connections, and the reassuring familiarity of the HU area. Inside, we focus on creating spaces that feel less like an institution and more like a home, where comfort, dignity, and personal preference guide the way we do things.
The breadth of care we offer reflects our belief that every individual deserves support tailored to their own story. We provide older person care and residential care for those who need day to day assistance, alongside specialist dementia care for residents living with memory loss or cognitive change. Our team also supports adults with mental health needs, physical disabilities, and eating disorders, as well as younger adults whose care requirements differ from those of older residents. For families navigating the challenges of alcohol or drug related concerns, we offer understanding and structured support in a non judgemental setting. Respite care is also available, giving family carers the chance to take a well earned break whilst knowing their loved one is in safe hands.
In practice, this means our approach is genuinely person centred. We take time to learn what matters most to each resident, whether that is a favourite morning routine, a lifelong hobby, cherished family photographs on the bedside table, or simply a preferred cup of tea in the afternoon. For families, this translates into open communication, regular updates, and the reassurance of knowing their relative is seen as a whole person, not simply a set of care needs.
We want to be transparent about our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection, carried out in May 2023, which rated us as Requires Improvement across all five domains including safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well led. We understand that families reading this will want to know what such a rating means. It reflects areas where the CQC identified opportunities for us to strengthen our practice, and we take that feedback seriously. Ratings of this kind are a prompt for reflection, learning, and steady improvement, and we remain committed to raising standards in every part of daily life at the home. We believe honesty about where we stand is the foundation of the trust families place in us, and we welcome open conversations about the steps we are taking to move forward.
If you are exploring care options for someone you love, we understand how emotional and unfamiliar this journey can feel. Choosing the right home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we would be honoured to speak with you, answer your questions, and show you what daily life at Stride East is really like. Please reach out to arrange a visit or a conversation, and let us walk alongside you as you consider the next step for your loved one.

Will the council help pay, or is it self funded only?
Ask the home. The home has not told us which funding it accepts. Most homes take both council funded and self funded residents; ask about council rates and any top up. Use our funding calculator to check what you might pay.
