About Us
We are a residential care home in Hedon, caring for older people including those living with dementia, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places.
We are a home rather than an institution, and we work hard to keep it feeling that way. People choose when to get up, what to eat and how to spend their time, keep their own furniture and pictures in their rooms, and see visitors without needing to arrange it days in advance. Meals are cooked here, and we take note of what people genuinely enjoy.
Support covers personal care, medicines, mobility and the practical business of the day, offered in a way that leaves as much independence in place as possible. For those living with dementia, we concentrate on familiar surroundings, unhurried routines and a team who know each person's history well enough to make sense of what they are trying to express. Where somebody is distressed, we look for the cause rather than simply managing the behaviour.
Respite stays give family carers a proper rest and give the person staying company and a change of scene. We plan them carefully so they feel like a welcome rather than a gap being filled.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are thinking about a move, please come and see us on a normal day and talk to the people who live here.
