About Us
Here at Holland House, we are proud to offer a warm and welcoming home for the people who live with us in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire. We are a residential care home supporting older people, individuals with learning disabilities or autism, and those living with visual or hearing impairments. We also offer respite care for people who need a short break from their usual living arrangements, as well as a chance for family carers to take some time for themselves.
We believe that good care comes from truly knowing the people we support. That means taking the time to understand what matters to each person, how they like their days to go, what brings them comfort, and what helps them feel at home. We work closely with residents and their families to make sure care is shaped around the individual rather than the other way around.
Our team works hard to create an environment that feels genuinely homely. We want people to feel settled, respected, and valued from the moment they arrive. Whether someone is joining us for a longer stay or for a shorter period of respite, we aim to make the transition as smooth and reassuring as possible.
We are pleased that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in a rating of Good. We take that recognition seriously, and we are always looking at how we can build on what we do well.
If you are considering Holland House for yourself or for someone you care about, we would warmly encourage you to get in touch or come and visit us. There is no better way to get a feel for who we are than to see the home for yourself and have a chat with our team. We would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

More about the care at Holland House
What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.
Older Person Care
Dignity in the small moments is what separates a good week from a bad one for an older resident, from how personal care is offered to whether preferences about food are remembered. Holland House is registered for older person care. Ask how new residents settle in and who takes responsibility for learning their history and habits. Put a direct question about night cover, since the number of staff on duty at three in the morning is rarely in the brochure. Weekly fees across Yorkshire and Humberside typically fall between 800 and 1050 pounds, against a council rate of roughly 650 to 800. Establish early what the fee covers and what is billed separately.
Learning Disability / Autism
Adults with a learning disability or autism need support shaped around their own pace, their way of communicating and their tolerance for noise and change. Holland House holds a registration covering this group. Ask how the home plans with the person rather than for them, how often placements are reviewed, and what is done to keep daily living skills in use.
Visual / Hearing Impairment
Furniture that stays put, good lighting on the stairs and staff who say who they are before starting a task all matter where sight or hearing is poor. Holland House is registered for visual and hearing impairment. Families should ask how the home records communication needs and who takes responsibility for aids, batteries and eye tests.
Respite Care
Planned breaks work best when the home already knows the person, which is why some families book a few short stays before anything longer is considered. Short stay care is included in the registration held by Holland House. Ask how much notice is usually needed, what the minimum stay is, and how medicines are checked in on the day of arrival.
Residential Care
Without nurses on the payroll, a residential home concentrates on daily living: getting washed and dressed, eating properly, taking medicines, and having something to do and someone to do it with. Holland House in Goole is registered to provide residential care. The Care Quality Commission inspected in August 2025 and rated the home good, which makes this one of the more current assessments on the register. Nursing input arrives through community services rather than from staff the home employs. Ask how the home decides whether it can continue to meet someone's needs as those needs increase. A weekday visit at mealtime gives the clearest picture of how the place runs.

Can I visit before deciding, and are there visiting hours?
