About Us
Here at The Meadows Residential Care Home, we are proud to be part of the Greenford community in Ealing, providing a warm and homely environment where older people can feel genuinely safe, supported and valued.
We offer residential care and specialist dementia care, and our focus is always on getting to know each person as an individual. We take time to understand what matters to the people who live with us, from their daily routines and personal preferences through to their life stories and the things that bring them joy. That understanding shapes the care we provide each and every day.
Our team works hard to create an atmosphere that feels less like a care setting and more like a real home. We believe that moving into residential care should not mean giving up the things that make life meaningful, and we do our best to ensure that residents maintain their independence wherever possible and continue to enjoy the activities and connections that matter most to them.
Families are an important part of life at The Meadows, and we welcome them as true partners in care. We know that choosing a care home for someone you love is a significant decision, and we aim to be open, communicative and approachable at every stage of that journey.
We are pleased that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good, which reflects the commitment of our whole team to providing care that is safe, caring, responsive and well led. We do not take that rating for granted, and we are always looking at how we can continue to improve and grow.
If you would like to find out more about life at The Meadows or arrange a visit, we would love to hear from you.

More about the care at The Meadows Residential Care Home
What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.
Older Person Care
Everyday help for older people generally covers the small but important tasks that make life manageable, from support with washing and dressing in the morning through to prompting or administering medication safely and offering company through the day. The Meadows Residential Care Home is registered to provide older person care in Greenford, an area where private weekly fees across London typically fall between £1150 and £1500, while Ealing council placements are usually funded at around £850 to £1000. Families considering the home should ask how mornings and evenings are structured, whether residents can rise and retire at their own pace, and how medicines are recorded and reviewed. It is also worth asking how many staff are on duty overnight, how call bells are answered, and what happens if someone becomes unwell in the small hours.
Dementia
Good dementia care usually depends on consistency, so familiar faces, predictable daily rhythms and a calm layout that residents can navigate without feeling lost all make a real difference. Staff trained in dementia should be able to recognise early signs of distress, use gentle distraction and reassurance rather than confrontation, and adapt as someone's needs change over months and years. The Meadows Residential Care Home is registered to provide dementia care alongside its residential service in Greenford. Worth asking on a visit is how the team responds when a resident becomes agitated or tearful, what steps are taken if someone tries to leave or wanders at night, and how the home works with families and GPs when dementia advances and needs increase. Ask too how life history information is gathered and used.
Respite Care
Respite stays at The Meadows Residential Care Home should be booked as early as possible, particularly around school holidays when demand rises. Most homes ask for a minimum of one or two weeks, and it helps to pack clearly labelled clothing, toiletries, current medication in its original packaging and a summary of routines and preferences. A short stay can also work well as a trial before committing to a permanent move, so ask how assessments and reviews are handled.
Residential Care
Residential care covers everyday living rather than clinical treatment, so the focus is on cooked meals, help with personal care, laundry, housekeeping and a social routine that gives structure to the week. The key difference from nursing care is that registered nurses are not based on site around the clock, so residents whose main needs are physical frailty, memory difficulties or reduced confidence tend to be well suited, while those requiring ongoing wound care, feeding tubes or complex clinical input usually need a nursing home instead. The Meadows Residential Care Home is registered for residential and dementia care and holds a good rating from the Care Quality Commission following its July 2021 inspection. Families should ask how meals are planned, how activities are arranged, and how district nurses or GPs are called in when health needs change.
