About Glendale Court
Glendale Court is a residential care home in Teignmouth, Devon. We provide a permanent home to older people, and we also offer respite stays for those who need care for a short period or whose family carer needs a break. Most of our residents need help with washing and dressing, moving about safely, medication and meals, and reassurance that somebody is nearby at night. A good number have physical disabilities, and there we put real effort into the practical detail. Equipment, hoists, transfers, seating and access are what decide whether somebody can get where they want to go and do things for themselves, so we get them right and review them as needs change. We also support people living with sight or hearing loss, where the small things matter most: announcing ourselves clearly, describing what we are doing, and making sure information reaches somebody in a form they can actually use. Food is cooked on the premises and people are asked what they would like. There is somewhere sociable to sit and somewhere quiet, the sea is close enough for a trip out, and families visit whenever they can. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to come and see us, at a mealtime if you can, and talk to whoever is on duty.
