About Miramar

Miramar is a residential care home in Exmouth, supporting older people and younger adults, including people with a learning disability, autistic people and people living with mental health conditions. We are a home where people are expected to have opinions about how they live, and where our job is to make those preferences workable. Support plans here are written with the person rather than about them. We ask what someone wants help with, what they would rather do themselves, and what makes a day go well or badly. Then we keep checking, because needs and wishes change and a plan that is never revisited quickly becomes fiction. We encourage people to stay part of the town. Exmouth has a great deal to offer and we support residents to use it, whether that is the seafront, the shops, a local group, a course or a job. Keeping those threads of ordinary life intact is usually what makes living here feel worthwhile. Families and friends are welcome, and with the person's agreement we keep them informed and involved. We also offer respite stays, which give family carers a break and let someone get to know us before making a longer commitment. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and see us if you are considering a move.
