About Us

Kings Court Care Home is a residential care home in Barnard Castle providing a home for a varied group of people: older adults, younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people with physical disabilities, and people living with mental health conditions.

That breadth works because we build support around the individual rather than around a label. One person may need help with almost every part of the day and another very little, and both live here on the same footing. We ask each person what a good day looks like for them, write it down in a form that makes sense to them, and change it when they tell us to.

For those living with dementia we keep the routine steady and the faces familiar. Where somebody is managing a mental health condition, a calm and predictable household does more good than any particular intervention.

People here are supported to get out into Barnard Castle, to clubs, appointments and family, and to be as involved in running the house as they want.

Respite stays are available. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
