About Lowenac

We are Lowenac in Camborne, Cornwall, a residential home supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. We also offer respite stays for people who want a short break or whose families need one. We run this as a household rather than a service. Everybody has their own room, arranged as they want it, and a real say in how things work day to day, from what goes on the shopping list to what happens at the weekend. We support people to keep up with family and friends, to get out into Camborne and further afield, to keep up with work, college or volunteering, and to take on more of their own routine at their own pace. Support here depends entirely on knowing people well. We take time to learn how each person communicates, what tends to unsettle them and what helps them settle again, and we make sure anyone new understands all of it before supporting somebody alone. Keeping our staff team consistent is one of the most valuable things we can do, particularly for people who find change difficult. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep questioning our own practice regardless of it. If you are looking for residential support in Cornwall, please arrange to come and visit, meet the people who live here and see how an ordinary week actually runs.
