About Us
Ashfields Care Home is a residential care home in Macclesfield. We look after older people who have reached the point where living alone has become hard work, and we also offer respite stays for people who normally live at home.
We try to keep life here ordinary. People get up when they wake, eat food they actually enjoy, and spend their days as they choose, in company or quietly on their own. Families are welcome whenever they want to come, and we would much rather relatives dropped in as part of ordinary life than arranged formal visits. A respite stay might be a fortnight so that a family carer can rest properly, or a few weeks of support after illness or a spell in hospital, and we settle short stay guests in rather than leaving them to sit it out.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We are not going to gloss over that. We know where our work fell short of the standard the people living here deserve, we are working through those areas with our team, and if you are considering us for a relative we would rather you asked us about it directly and looked at what has changed.
You are welcome to visit on an ordinary day, look round and talk to the people who live here.
