About Us
Our home on Station Road in Holmes Chapel provides residential care for older people and also supports adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with a physical disability and younger adults. Respite stays are available too.
This is a house and we want it to feel like one. People choose how their rooms look, what they eat, when they get up and how much of the day they spend in company. Those choices are most of what makes a place worth living in, and they take steady effort to protect.
Support is planned around what each person wants to be able to do rather than only around risk. Cooking, shopping, managing money, using transport, getting to college, work or activities, and keeping up with family and friends. Where somebody needs a great deal of help, we still look hard for the parts they can take on themselves.
Where a person has a physical disability we think properly about equipment, access and the amount of help we offer, because being over assisted is a real loss and it creeps in easily.
We learn how each person communicates, including those who use little or no speech, and we pay attention to noise, lighting and predictability, since all of it affects how good a day somebody has.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
