About Pemdale
Pemdale is a residential care home in Potton, in the quieter part of Central Bedfordshire, and we support a mixed group of people. Some of our residents are older and need help with the practical business of the day, while others are younger adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, or people living with a physical disability who need support to get on with their own lives. That mix works because we plan for individuals rather than running one routine for everybody. One person may want help to wash and dress and then to be left in peace with the radio on. Another may want us alongside them cooking, going into the village, getting to an appointment or sorting out something that has gone wrong. Both are equally welcome here. We pay close attention to how each person communicates, what they find difficult and what settles them, and we build a plan around it with them and with the people who know them well. Where somebody needs help to move about safely, our staff are trained for it and we keep the right equipment in place. We also offer respite stays, which give family carers a real break and give the person staying with us a proper stay rather than a stopgap. Visitors are welcome, and if you are thinking about a place here we would rather you came and spent some time with us before deciding.
