About Beech Close

Beech Close is a residential care home in Dunstable. We support older people and younger adults who need help with daily living, including people with a physical disability, and we take respite bookings for families needing a short break or a period of extra support. We aim to feel like a house rather than an institution. People rise when they wake, keep their own furniture and photographs around them, choose how the day is spent and are not hurried through the parts that take longer than they once did. Mealtimes are meant to be enjoyed rather than got through, and visitors are welcome throughout the day without arranging it first. Where somebody has a physical disability but is otherwise getting on with life, our part is to remove the obstacles rather than to take over. We plan around the life a person still wants to lead and we revisit that as things change, because needs rarely hold still for long. The Care Quality Commission has not yet published an overall rating for us. We are glad to talk through how we staff the home, how we train people and how we handle concerns. If you are considering residential or respite care in Bedfordshire, please arrange to come and look round.
