About Us

Mantles Court is a residential care home in Biggleswade. We support older people and younger adults who need help with daily living, including people living with dementia, people living with a mental health condition and people with a physical disability. We also take respite bookings.

Because people come to us by very different routes, we do not run the home to a single pattern. Some residents need a good deal of hands on support through the day. Others mainly want a settled base, a bit of structure and someone reliable to check in with. We work out which is which by asking, and we keep asking, because what somebody needs on arrival is rarely what they need a year later.

People keep their own belongings around them, choose how the day goes and are not hurried through the parts that take longer than they once did. Families are welcome throughout the day and we would rather they came often and informally than waited for an invitation.

Supporting somebody living with dementia takes patience and attention to detail, so our staff learn the particulars that help each person feel secure.

Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
