About Us
We are Woodlands Park Care Centre in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. We provide residential care for older people, including those living with dementia, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Respite stays are available.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement, and we would rather tell you that ourselves than have you find it elsewhere. We have worked through the findings in detail, changed how care is planned, recorded and reviewed, and strengthened the way we supervise and support our staff. Our progress is being monitored, and relatives are given the same account of it that we give the regulator.
What we are working to protect in the meantime is everyday life here. People arrive with their own furniture, pictures and habits, and those come first. What time you wake, where you take your breakfast, how sociable you feel today: those stay your decisions. For people living with dementia, the useful work is in the detail, knowing somebody's history, recognising early what unsettles them and going at their pace rather than the rota's.
If you are considering us for a relative, please come and see the home and ask about the rating directly. We will answer fully rather than reassuringly.
