About Jansondean Care Home

Jansondean is a residential care home in Beckenham providing care for older people who need help with daily life and the reassurance of somebody being there at any hour. We keep the running of the home as ordinary as we can. Residents choose when to get up, what to wear, where to spend the day and who to spend it with. Staff give help with washing, dressing, moving about safely, medication and meals, and they are trained to do it in a way that preserves privacy and dignity rather than treating people as a list of tasks. A good deal of what we provide is company. Many people come to us after a long stretch of living alone, and having somebody to talk to at breakfast changes a week more than any organised activity does. There is plenty going on for those who want it and no obligation for anybody else. Meals are cooked on the premises with a genuine choice. We watch health closely, know people well enough to spot when something is wrong, and involve the GP early. Respite and short stays can be arranged. If you would like to visit, please telephone us and we will make the arrangements.
