About Silverbirch Home
Silverbirch Home is a residential care home in Birmingham. We provide a permanent home for older people and for some younger adults, and we also take respite bookings for people who need care for a shorter spell. The people who live here have a range of needs. We support people living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. What ties that together is a fairly simple approach: work out what each person needs to have a decent day, then arrange the support around that rather than around a routine that suits the building. Practical help covers washing and dressing, medication, meals, mobility and support overnight. Beyond that, we pay attention to the things that are easy to let slide, such as whether somebody is getting outside, whether they still see the people who matter to them, and whether they have anything to look forward to. Families are part of this. We keep in touch, we tell people when something has changed, and visitors are genuinely welcome rather than merely tolerated. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering a residential home in Birmingham, come and see us and judge the place for yourself.
