About Loring Hall

We are a residential care home in Sidcup supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, including older people who need help with daily living. The house is run as a household rather than an institution. People living here have their own rooms and their own belongings, and they take part in deciding how the place works: what is cooked, when meals happen, what gets bought and where everyone goes at the weekend. For adults who have often had decisions made on their behalf, that ordinary degree of control is much of the point. Support is built around each person and what they want to be able to do, whether that is work, college, volunteering, getting out regularly, keeping up with family, managing money with a hand from staff or learning to do more around the house. Where people have grown older here, needs change and we change with them, adding help with personal care, mobility and health appointments while keeping as much of a person's own routine and independence as we can. We would rather adapt than suggest a move. Predictability counts for a great deal, so we keep staffing as consistent as possible. Respite stays are available alongside longer places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for a place for yourself or someone in your family, please come and visit and ask us anything.
