About Parkview
Parkview is a residential care home in Bexleyheath supporting a mixed group of adults. Many of our residents are older people, including those living with dementia, and we also support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and some younger adults whose needs suit a home of this kind. That mix works because we plan for individuals rather than running one routine for everybody. One person may want help to wash and dress and then to be left in peace. Another may want staff alongside them cooking, going out locally, getting to an appointment or sorting out a problem. Both are equally at home here. For residents living with dementia we keep the house familiar and the staff consistent, explain what is happening as we go and try to understand what lies behind a change in mood rather than treating it as a symptom. For residents with a learning disability the emphasis is more often on independence and on staff who understand how somebody communicates. Everyday life should be ordinary. Residents choose when they get up, what they eat, whether they join in and who comes to visit. Meals are cooked here and nobody is hurried through a plate. Respite stays are available and can give a family carer a proper break. You are welcome to visit and look round before deciding anything. Please ring us to arrange a convenient time.
